Recently renovated, the zoo is a pleasant place to visit with the family.

Small animals like horses and dolphins etc. are kept here. Some of them are in a petting area so the children can play with them. There are a lot of dogs in the dog village. You can try milking a cow or shearing a sheep's hair or playing with the dolphin.

There are museums and cultural facilities in the same area.This zoo is the second oldest in Japan.There is a small petting zoo and a popular library.

Children can play with some sea animals in some small pools. The aquarium has an energy exhibition room that shows how electricity runs the big water tanks to provide a safe environment for fish.

We can see the pandas up close as well as 200 kinds of other animals. There is a small petting zoo too. The anniversary of the opening is March 21st. Entrance into the zoo is free on that day.

You can closely see about 30 kinds of animals in the safari park by car or in the zoo. You can ride a pony, pet small animals and feed them.

There is a British garden and pet park. A lot of dogs play in the park.

Dairy cows and sheep wander around in the pasture as if there were in the Alps. Children can pet cows, sheep and other domestic animals. The manufacturing process of cheese can be seen in the Kobe Cheese Pavillion. At the Dream Atelier, the cheese process, cheese dishes, dairy products and wool crafts can be experienced.

Children can feel sea urchins & starfish, watch dolphins jumping & sea otters being fed.
After visiting the Suma Aqualife Park, enjoy a walk on Suma Beach or go to the small amusement park nearby.

The twin pandas at the safari park, the penguins & otters at marine world & the dolphins, whales & sea lions at the marine show are very popular.

It is in the Wakayama Castle Park. There are 84 kinds of birds & 47 kinds of mammals here.

The coral and the colourful fish produce a beautiful spectacle in the sea.
There is an underwater observatory, tours by boat, diving tours & diving courses.

There is information on the history of whale fishing from the past 400 years. Tools used in whale fishing and skeletons of whales are on display. Four kinds of dolphins are bred here. Twice a day visitors can feed the dolphins for a fee.
